The last update from SUSE on Certification paths

The SLES 12 to 15 Update Certification Update exam is now live and able to be scheduled.  Candidates who currently hold either an SCA or SCE in Enterprise Linux 12 will be able to take this one exam and update their certification(s) to version 15. Candidates who have only an SCA will receive an updated SCA in Enterprise Linux 15, and those candidates with an SCE in Enterprise Linux 12 will receive the corresponding version 15 SCA and SCE. Course SLE200 - Transitioning to SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 prepares students for this exam.

The SCE in Enterprise Storage 5 and SCA+ in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 for SAP Applications exams were also recently released, and the Foundational Assessment on SUSE CaaS Platform was updated to version 3 to match the updated CAAS101V3 course.

The next exams to be released will be the SCA and SCE in Enterprise Linux 15.

Continuing Certification Requirement (CCR)

All existing SUSE Certified Instructors are required to meet the forthcoming Continuing Certification Requirement (CCR) in order to remain within the existing SCI programme.

There are two parts to the CCR:

  • For those currently teaching our SLES 15 courses, you will need to update your provisional authorization by taking the SLES 12 to 15 Certification Update exam (code 050-753) by 31 March 2019.
  • For all other SUSE Certified Instructors who are in the programme but whom do not currently teach the SLE 15 courses you have until the end of June 2019 to take and pass the exam in order to remain in the SUSE Certified Instructor Programme.

We will be issuing all our existing SCI’s with a free ecredit (voucher) in order to allow them to take the exam free of charge and update their certification in order to remain current in the SCI programme.
