DO246 Red Hat OpenShift with Serverless and Knative

    DO246

    Opis

Design, build, and deploy containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift with additional focus on developing and deploying event-driven auto-scaling serverless applications and functions Red Hat OpenShift with Serverless and Knative (DO264), teaches you how to design, build, and deploy containerized software applications on Red Hat® OpenShift Container Platform, a containerized application platform that allows enterprises to manage container deployments and scale their applications by using Kubernetes. You will also learn how to develop, deploy, and auto-scale event driven serverless applications by using Red Hat OpenShift Serverless. This will enable developers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to focus on the core business logic of their applications and functions by delegating operational concerns and infrastructure services to the Red Hat® OpenShift Serverless platform. This course is based on Red Hat OpenShift Serverless 1.23 and OpenShift Container Platform 4.10. Course content summary

    • Designing containerized applications for OpenShift.
    • Managing and triggering application builds by using Source-to-Image (S2I).
    • Customizing an existing source-to-image base image.
    • Deploying multi-container applications by using Helm Charts.
    • Creating health checks to monitor and improve application reliability.
    • Creating and deploying cloud-native applications on OpenShift.
    • Understanding OpenShift Serverless architecture and primary features of Knative for serverless applications.
    • Implementing cloud-native serverless applications by using Knative serving.
    • Implementing event-driven serverless applications by using Knative eventing.
    • Implementing serverless applications using OpenShift Serverless functions.

    Impact on the organization

This course provides application developers with the essential skills to design, build, and deploy containerized applications, whether they are migrating existing applications to OpenShift, or creating new cloud-native applications. It provides the gateway to organizational and digital transformation by demonstrating the potential of DevOps using a container-based architecture. As developers seek ways to improve application time to market for minimum viable products, containers and OpenShift have quickly become the de facto solution for agile development and application deployment.

Cloud-native serverless applications minimize the effort spent configuring and scaling infrastructure, allowing developers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to bring products and services to market quickly. Red Hat OpenShift Serverless allows organizations to decrease development time by focusing on the core business functions of their applications, and allows integration with both internal and external applications. Developers can rapidly build event-driven custom workflows by using standard protocols and familiar developer tooling. SREs can automate tasks with simple functions that respond to events.

Red Hat has created this course in a way intended to benefit our customers, but each company and infrastructure is unique, and actual results or benefits may vary.

    Impact of this training

You will learn about the fundamental concepts behind containerizing, scaling, deploying, and managing applications in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. You will be able to accelerate the time to market for cloud-native applications by minimizing time spent on operational and scaling aspects.
